From Auckland, drive north on State Highway 1 across Auckland Harbour Bridge to Warkworth - 45 minutes.​​

Approaching Warkworth right at the third set of  traffic lights onto Matakana Road, following signs to Matakana, Omaha Beach and Leigh

From Bay of Islands take State Highway 1 from Kawakawa through Whangarei to Warkworth and turn left at first set of traffic lights, bearing left up the hill, following signs for Matakana, Omaha Beach and Leigh

ONCE  you reach Matakana go straight ahead at the roundabout. You will now be on Leigh Road. We are 2.8 km from the roundabout. You will pass the Stables Restaurant entrance on your right, drive about 500 metres beyond  until you reach Pukematekeo driveway and Sugarloaf Lodge sign on left. (Once you have passed Stables & Country Park we are the fifth driveway on the left.)

Up the main driveway, then first left before the cattle stop, then first drive on the left (signposted to Sugarloaf Lodge)
